This page will be the hub for any future courses posted.
First, I will post a course on Sociology. My goal is to offer lessons at the advanced, introductory college level with support materials for lower-level coursework. Sociology as an academic discipline is under attack in the State of Florida. My hope is that focusing on this topic will help introduce Sociology, my passion, to students who otherwise will not get access to this fascinating discipline.
I will then construct an Economics page. This page will be aimed at high school economics, touching on economic theory, Micro and Macro approaches as well as practical economics. I will emphasize Florida’s Academic Plan, but will not limit the course. My goal is to offer an introduction to Economics as a field of study. I will not, at this point, offer work on “Financial Literacy” specifically, though I will work it in wherever appropriate.
From there, I intend to offer a philosophy course. Again, I will focus on advanced, honors, and on-level high school course work. I really enjoyed teaching this class. I know of few schools that offer a philosophy course, but I can think of no better way to teach the critical thinking that so many “education reformers” pay lip service to as they water down the curriculum.
